My destiny began over a century ago, when my forefathers first planted roots in Zimbabwe. They arrived in Southern Africa in the late 1800s as explorers and mapmakers who chartered and surveyed all that was unknown to the western world.
For well over one hundred years, that passion and enthusiasm for exploration has been passed down through our family. As a fifth-generation Zimbabwean, the Africa of my childhood was a rich tapestry of sugar plantations, ‘upside down’ trees, heady bougainvillea, majestic beasts and single fat clouds that snailed across Kingfisher skies. We fished and rode horses and played outside from sunup to sundown - a veritable freedom from the youngest age to create new worlds with grass and seeds and indigo leaves: worlds once inhabited by old bushmen, wise trackers, erstwhile guides, botanists and biologists.
We learned to hunt for treasures. And I have never stopped hunting for treasures. You will find a selection of them in my shop.
